About Us
We are Kati and Teemu Paananen, an artist–designer–craftsperson–musician couple, united by a deep love for creativity, music, craftsmanship, and mythology. The drums we create are born at the meeting point of art, sound, and spirit – shaped by a shared life and vision. As we perform, the voices of the drums and living soundscapes create a sacred circle of sound, inviting healing energy, grounding, and renewed strength to flow through the listener.

Story
Two Souls, One Rhythm
Teemu began making drums as a young man nearly 30 years ago. Since then, rhythm, sound, and instrument building have been at the heart of his path. He has played guitar, composed music, and written lyrics from an early age, and his musical background lives on in the resonance and structure of every drum.
Kati is a passionate visual artist and originally trained as a designer. She loves painting the hidden stories of people’s souls onto the drum skin – symbols, spirits, and unseen worlds take form through her hand, giving each drum its own unique presence and spirit.
We are both inspired by nature, mythology, and ancient wisdom. Meditation, walking, time in nature, and life at the cabin are essential parts of our daily rhythm – the forest’s silence and pulse guide our creative process.
It has been a great joy and honor to craft drums for people all over the world – reaching more than 90 countries so far. Each drum is created with its future owner in mind, as a lifelong companion on their journey.
Our Shamanic Path
We also walk the shamanic path. Both of us are guided by a deep calling in the heart to heal, support, and serve – listening to the person, the sound, and the silence between the beats. We believe in the low-frequency power of the drum and its ability to resonate on the levels of body, mind, and spirit.
We have also studied music therapy, and the meaning of sound, rhythm, and presence is something we live and breathe. For us, the drum is not merely an instrument, but a bridge to connection, balance, and inner journeys. Each drum is created with deep respect for its future keeper and their unique path.
Kaksi sielua samassa rytmissä
Olemme taiteilija–muotoilija–käsityöläis–muusikkopariskunta Pohjois-Savosta, jota yhdistää rakkaus luovuuteen, musiikkiin, käsityöhön ja mytologioihin. Rummut, joita valmistamme, syntyvät kahden ihmisen yhteisestä polusta – taiteen, äänen ja hengen risteyskohdassa.
Teemu aloitti rumpujen valmistamisen jo nuorena miehenä, lähes 30 vuotta sitten Meri-Lapissa asuessaan. Siitä lähtien rytmi, ääni ja soitinrakennus ovat kulkeneet hänen mukanaan. Hän on soittanut kitaraa, säveltänyt ja sanoittanut musiikkia nuoruudestaan asti, ja musiikki elää vahvasti myös rumpujen soinnissa ja rakenteessa.
Kati on intohimoinen kuvataiteilija ja koulutukseltaan muotoilija. Hän rakastaa maalata rumpukalvoille ihmisten sielujen tarinoita, symboleja ja näkymättömiä maailmoja – jokainen rumpu saa oman henkensä ja ilmeensä.
Meitä molempia inspiroivat luonto, myytit ja ikiaikainen viisaus. Harrastamme meditaatiota, kävelyä, luonnossa liikkumista ja mökkeilyä – hiljaisuus ja metsän rytmi ovat tärkeä osa luomisprosessiamme.
On ollut suuri ilo ja kunnia valmistaa rumpuja ihmisille ympäri maailman – tähän mennessä yli 90 maahan. Jokainen rumpu syntyy ajatuksella tulevasta soittajastaan ja kulkee hänen mukanaan omalla elämänpolullaan.
Shamanistinen polkumme
Kuljemme myös shamaanin polkua. Meitä molempia ohjaa sydämessä palava halu hoitaa, tukea ja auttaa – kuunnellen ihmistä, ääntä ja hiljaisuutta. Uskomme rummun matalataajuiseen voimaan, sen kykyyn resonoida kehon, mielen ja sielun tasoilla.
Olemme opiskelleet musiikkiterapiaa, ja äänen, rytmin sekä läsnäolon merkitys on meille syvästi koettu ja eletty. Rumpu ei ole meille vain soitin, vaan väline yhteyteen, tasapainoon ja sisäiseen matkaan. Jokainen rumpu syntyy kunnioituksesta sen tulevaa haltijaa ja hänen polkuaan kohtaan.
